Privacy Notice
This notice explains what Curio collects, why it is needed, who can see it, and the choices available to students, educators, and schools.

What Curio collects
Curio may process account details such as a name, email address, role, and account identifiers; course materials, assignments, and enrollment details; student questions, attempts, drafts, work records, and submissions; educator feedback and course settings; and service logs used for reliability and security.
How information is used
We use this information to operate Curio, keep guidance grounded in the correct course, help students reason through their work, provide educators with useful learning patterns, administer access, protect the service, and respond to support requests. Curio does not sell student learning data or use it for targeted advertising.
What educators can see
Curio is designed so a student's private draft and Guide conversation are not automatically exposed to an educator. Educators receive class-level patterns, anonymized examples, and student-approved work records according to course settings. Schools should review and configure those settings before using Curio with real students.
Service providers
Curio uses specialized providers for authentication, hosting, data storage, email delivery, and AI-assisted guidance. These providers process information to deliver the service on Curio's behalf. Schools evaluating Curio may request current infrastructure and subprocessors information before a pilot.
Retention and deletion
Course administrators can choose supported retention windows and preview or run a purge of expired learning records. Other account and course information is kept only while reasonably needed to provide the service, meet school instructions, resolve disputes, or satisfy legal obligations. Contact us to request access, correction, or deletion; identity or school authorization may need to be verified first.
Students and children
Curio's public demos use sample data. Real student use must be authorized and managed by a school, district, educator, parent, or guardian as required by applicable law and school policy. Children under 13 should not create or use an independent Curio account without the required school or parental authorization.
Security and changes
Curio uses access controls, encrypted connections, private storage, audit records, and production configuration checks to protect information. No system is completely secure. Please report a suspected security or privacy issue promptly. We will update this notice when our practices materially change and revise the date above.
